Lumberton, NC

This building is comprised of three 2 story building wings connected together with a “bridge”. The elevated concrete on metal deck floors are constructed using composite steel beams that span 40′-0″ and frame into composite girders spanning 30′-0″.  The roof is framed with sloping steel  bar joists  and steel girders that support steel  roof decking. Floor and roof loads are supported by steel columns bearing on concrete spread footings. Lateral stability for the building is provided by steel diagonal bracing that is architecturally exposed. Miscellaneous structural steel framing was designed to support the unique and seemingly floating architectural building facade.
