Fleming & Associates was honored to be selected as the structural Engineer of Record for the first state park located in Cumberland County. The visitor’s center at the North Carolina Veterans Park includes exhibit space and restrooms to support the park. The building is a one story steel braced frame. Both field and shop prepared moment connections in the structural steel roof system were used to assist the architect in creating large cantilevered overhangs at the building’s perimeter. The design of the building includes extensive amounts of exposed structural steel, a glass façade, and an exposed concrete floor slab.
