Fleming & Associates provided structural engineering services for Gray’s Creek Middle School, a 125,000-square-foot facility completed in 2009. The main building, including the Administration, Media Center, Cafeteria, Gymnasium, and offices, is framed with steel columns, beams, and joists. The three classroom wings feature load-bearing CMU walls supporting exposed bottom-bearing steel joists and metal roof deck. Exposed rod diagonal bracing between the joists at the bearing locations is a distinctive feature of the classroom wing roof structure.
