Fleming & Associates assisted the City of Fayetteville in the development of all phases of the Cape Fear River Trail by providing the design of cast-in-place concrete bridge abutments, elevated boardwalks, steel-H pile and wood pile design. Unique challenges during this project included designing the covered boardwalk and bridge that passed through existing Norfolk Southern railroad trestle support structure. The trail extends for approximately twelve miles along the Cape Fear River from the Fayetteville Soccer Complex to the Cape Fear Botanical Garden.
