A visual inspection with limited destructive testing was conducted to determine the condition of the Anson Correctional Institution’s existing roof, which is approximately 280,000 sq. ft. The investigation included: destructive testing, hazardous material testing, visual inspection, review of existing drawings, nuclear and capacitance moisture testing, adhesion testing, fastener withdrawal testing, and gathering of historical data on past building performance regarding water entry into the building.  The assessment report concluded with two high performance roof replacement options for The Anson County Correctional Facility to include a total tear off of the existing gravel and built-up-roof.
