Steve Fleming, PE, RBEC

Principal

Steve has over 40 years of experience working as a structural engineer and building enclosure consultant in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Missouri.  His training began with Ezra Meir, PE in Raleigh, NC with a focus on structural design and geotechnical engineering.  In 1978 he moved to Columbia, SC to join Owen Steel Company, a large steel fabricator, where he was trained in connection design, steel detailing, and shop fabrication to include long span trusses and bridge girders.  He became a certified welder while working at Owen Steel.

Steve moved back to his hometown, Fayetteville, N.C., in the early 1980’s to join Huske, Leggett and Associates PA, a local structural engineering firm.  Steve regards Ben Huske III, PE as the person who most influenced him as an engineer and recruited him to the practice of structural consulting.  Steve moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1984 to join Sverdrup and Parcel Inc., a large international EA firm where he was trained in the design of large concrete buildings.  He returned home to accept a position as an associate with Huske, Leggett and Associates in 1986.  In late 1987 Steve founded Fleming and Associates, PA.  In 2001 Fleming and Associates expanded its services to include building enclosure design.  Steve is a Registered Roof Consultant with the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC).
