This new medium security facility provides 300 new beds for detention with core facilities designed to accommodate up to 600 beds.  The building includes outdoor recreation areas for the inmates, food services, laundry, intake and booking, and a secure vehicular sallyport. There are two courtrooms, one 300 seat District Courtroom and a smaller Magistrate Courtroom. The administration area includes law enforcement offices for Sheriff and detectives as well as crime scene investigation. The inmate area is constructed with an elevated cast-in-place concrete mezzanine slab. The roof over this mezzanine level is constructed with long span double pitched steel bar joists supported by load bearing concrete masonry walls. The roof over the single story kitchen area is constructed with long span steel bar joists supported by load bearing concrete masonry walls to allow for the large open space. The roof over the single story judicial and law enforcement portions of the building is constructed with steel bar joists supported predominantly by interior steel beam and columns and exterior load bearing concrete masonry walls. The roof structure over the building is typically designed to slope to interior roof drains to minimize the need for tapered insulation.
